Blue Heeler's National Touring Network

Country Arts WA is the West Australian representative of the 'Blue Heeler' National Touring Network - the main body supporting, facilitating and coordinating national performing arts touring in Australia.

Country Arts WA works within the Blue Heeler National Touring Network to provide opportunities for WA producers and to meet the needs and expectations of regional presenters and audiences.

The Blue Heelers administer the Cyberpaddock website and also coordinate the biannual Long Paddock touring forums, a showcase of productions short-listed from the voting on the Cyberpaddock website. Producers invited to attend Long Paddock are usually in running to get a further boost to their prospects for national touring through funding from Playing Australia, the Commonwealth Government’s national performing arts touring program. Country Arts WA assists WA producers whose show has attracted considerable national interest in developing a funding application to Playing Australia. Country Arts WA also coordinates the national touring of successful applications to Playing Australia.

In 2008 Country Arts WA will tour productions of the WA Ballet, Perth Theatre Company and Spare Parts Puppet Theatre to venues outside of WA.
