For Artists
Touring > Touring Menu
Every year Country Arts WA invites producers of professional performing arts to include their productions in the Touring Menu. Once compiled, the Touring Menu is distributed to over 700 groups and individuals in regional WA and begins the selection process for the Shows on the Go regional touring program.
Tours are selected by the responses we receive from community presenters voting on those shows in the Menu they'd most like to host in their communities. Country Arts WA has funding for three to four state-wide tours per year, usually between four to eight weeks in length. If your production is selected, Country Arts WA will coordinate the entire tour including contracting with presenters for payment of your fee and funding of all tour costs.

Touring Menu 2011
This year, the Touring Menu will move online via the Cyberpaddock website http://www.cyberpaddock.com.au/
If you wish to be considered for Country Arts WA's Shows on the Go touring program in 2011 you must upload your information via Cyberpaddock.
So what does this all mean...?
Already listed on Cyberpaddock?
If you are already listed on Cyberpaddock you may submit productions already registered by duplicating your entry and making the necessary adjustments to meet the Shows on the Go criteria.
Not registered on Cyberpaddock?
The first step is to contact a member of the Touring Team at Country Arts WA. Then register! Click on the ‘register for an account' link. You will be asked to provide a password and a few basic details about yourself. Your account will be activated within 2 days.
As a producer, your priorities should then be:
- Create a Producer Profile
- Create a Production Profile for productions you wish to make available for touring
- Advise Katie Harford at Country Arts WA that you wish to be listed in the Country Arts WA Shows on the Go round. By return email or call 08 9200 6203
- Make sure your listing is complete by the deadline. The Earlybird deadline is 22 April 2010.
Note to all producers
Please note that alterations may be necessary to an existing production entry to ensure your listing is suitable for the Shows on the Go program, review the attached criteria and check your crewing and equipment list as many venues on the touring circuit will only have power and a stage so your production must be very flexible.

Workshops
Country Arts WA has a priority to ensure all performing arts tours are able to also deliver a workshop component. Please make sure you have a development component detailed in your application. For example last year The Yabu Band conducted music workshops, kompany M conducted script writing workshops and this year Tropic Sun will conduct a workshop which turns junk into funk, instrument making workshops.
"Workshops with school children were well attended and 'the best' the children have experienced, they loved it!" - Rebecca Kelly, Moora Performing Arts Centre, 2009 I've Got News For You dance workshop
Cost
Once your application has been checked against the criteria you will be notified of approval to submit to the Shows on the Go round. This will cost $55 if you submit your details before the earlybird deadline 22 April and $65 if you submit your entry at the latest by 30 April.
What does this mean for me?
This means you will be eligible to be voted for by WA community groups for touring in 2011.
Shows on the Go tours are selected by community presenters voting on those shows in the Touring Menu they'd most like to host in their communities. Country Arts WA is funded to deliver three to four state wide tours per year, usually between four to eight weeks in length. If your production is selected, Country Arts WA will coordinate the entire tour including contracting with presenters for payment of your fee and funding of all tour costs.
Being listed on Cyberpaddock gives you exposure to the national touring venue network. The site has over 100 presenters already registered and they are all looking for touring productions.
You will be provided with a list of venues and communities interested in your production whether you are successful in being selected for a Country Arts WA tour or not.
Country Arts WA will also be producing a printed menu featuring work listed in the Shows on the Go round on Cyberpaddock and sending this to over 700 contacts across regional Western Australia.
