What is the Regional Arts Mentorships program?

A mentorship is a skills and information exchange where an artist or arts worker has the opportunity to learn from an artist or artsw orker with specific skills and experience to offer.

This program connects creative people, allowing them to share knowledge, experience, networks and skills. It promotes opportunities for regional artists and arts workers to gain professional development from contact with a professional mentor through a formal structure.

What can we apply for?

Funding can cover all project costs relating to the proposal, for example fees for partners, travel, accommodation, some materials, some venue and equipment hire, administration and insurance.

Are we eligible?

Mentorship proposals are welcomed from both emerging and career artists, arts workers, arts administrators working in any art form. The applicant should be a minimum of 18 years old, demonstrate a commitment to developing a career in a cultural industry and must be regionally based. Applications from Indigenous artists and cultural workers are encouraged.

To become a mentor you need to demonstrate appropriate professional experience; include a copy of your resume, professional references and a letter of agreement establishing your commitment to act as a mentor.

How do we apply?

One mentoring partnership over a twelve-month period is offered each year. You must discuss your application with the a member of the Regional Arts Development Team before submitting your application.
