What can we apply for?
Share the Risk aims to reduce the risk to the community group presenting the event by underwriting some of the costs. If the presentation of the event results in a financial loss, Share the Risk provides the security for a community presenter to guarantee the payment of performance fees and touring costs.
Are we eligible?
All community-based not-for-profit organisations in regional Western Australia may apply. Productions that tour as part of the Shows on the Go program are not eligible for Share the Risk. Organisations that receive annual funding from Lotterywest are not eligible to apply.
How do we apply?
The community group chooses the show and negotiates directly with the performers to come to their community. And Share the Risk will provide financial assistance if the presentation results in a loss.
There are six Share the Risk rounds each year. Contact the Touring Officer toll free on 1800 811 883 to confirm dates or email touring@countryartswa.asn.au
The full Guidelines and an Application form can be downloaded from the link at the top of the page.
How much money can we apply for?
Funding amounts will depend on the size of the event and the overall budget, to a maximum grant of $10,000.
How is our application assessed?
The Touring Officer will check your application and contact you if any further information is required. The Country Arts WA Touring Assistance Panel will assess your application against the criteria and make a decision about your application at the next Panel meeting after the application closing date. You will be notified by mail about the outcome.
Successful applicants
Successful applicants are required to sign and return a funding contract. Successful applicants are obliged to display the logos of the organisations that provide this funding. The logos can be downloaded from the link at the top of the page.
How do we acquit a successful application?
A Share the Risk acquittal form will be forwarded to you along with your contract and approval letter. It can also be downloaded from the link at the top of the page. The acquittal form tells us if you require any funds for your performance. Any payment required will be actioned by us when we have received your acquittal and a tax invoice.
