We’re celebrating the world premiere of Skylab and would love you to join us for lift off! For the first time, Black Swan is collaborating with Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company to present a new play, Skylab by Wongutha, Nadju playwright Melodie Reynolds-Diarra.
The production will have its world premiere at the State Theatre Centre’s Studio Underground from 16 August – 2 September. Following its Perth season, the Skylab company will tour to Carnarvon to perform at Camel Lane Theatre on At 8 September. We invite you to be a part of the audience!
THE STORY: It’s July 1979. NASA’s Skylab is hurtling towards Earth, about to crash land near Esperance. Nev, Jem and the kids have no idea that their world is about to change: reality shifts, conspiracy theories abound and a pink horse appears out of nowhere.
Here’s a sneak peek of monkey magic, comedy and mayhem from the rehearsal room with our video trailer.
Channel Seven’s Today Tonight spoke to director Kyle J Morrison and playwright Melodie Reynolds-Diarra. See video footage from 39 years ago when since Skylab crashed back to earth.
We are very excited to bring this distinctly Western Australian story to Karratha and Carnarvon.
