Established in 1985, the Community Arts Network WA (CAN) is an exciting and dynamic community arts and cultural development not-for-profit organisation. CAN’s role in delivering arts and creativity with and to Australian communities is channelled through its three core operational streams: CAN Productions; CAN Learning, and CAN Doing.

Reporting to the CAN Board, the position of Chief Executive Officer will lead a committed team of approximately 20 staff across multiple locations and based within the head office, Perth WA.

This key role will have oversight of CAN’s financial, human and physical resources and be pivotal in maintaining and developing respected relationships with key stakeholders across all layers of government, the arts and private sector.

We seek a visionary leader with proven experience leading small to medium sized not for profit organisations and a deep understanding of the arts and community development sectors. Someone who lives and breathes the values of respect, social justice and resilience, and, who will proactively champion a collaborative culture which delivers exceptional community cultural development services.

It is envisaged that you will have excellent leadership, advocacy, business planning, financial and management skills, as well as proven experience in funding applications and diversification strategies. Previous experience in managing social enterprises, registered training organisations, and overseeing international arts and community development projects will be regarded highly.
