Aboriginal Arts Centre Hub WA

lThe Aboriginal Arts Centre Hub Western Australia (AACHWA) began as a Country Arts WA project back in 2011. Officially launched during the highly recognised Revealed exhibition, the independent, not-for-profit AACHWA is now (as of 2015) a fully fledged Aboriginal-governed peak body, representing Aboriginal arts centres collectively across the state.

Over the past five and a half years, the Aboriginal arts hub (incubated by Country Arts WA) has been providing advocacy, professional development, and promotion to numerous centres throughout Western Australia. As a result, new opportunities have emerged for these centres which typically operate in remote and regional locations, and often with limited infrastructure, facilities, and funding.

AACHWA supports the development and growth of Western Australia’s Aboriginal visual arts sector. They observe, communicate, and shape what’s happening in the industry – both in Western Australia and on a national scale.

AACHWA members include:

  • Martumili Artists
  • Mungart Boodja Art Centre
  • Tjukurba Gallery
  • Wirnda Barna Artists
  • Yamaji Art
  • Roebourne Art Group
  • Spinifex Arts Project
  • Walkatjurra Cultural Centre
