Frequently Asked Questions

I’m looking for advice on how to bring more, better shows and performers to my town, where should I start?

The first place we recommend all community presenters look for advice is the Community Presenter Guide. This document is full of advice compiled from hundreds of contributions from presenters, organisations and artists across WA.

If you’ve got a whole team or community whose skills and knowledge you want to develop take a look at the Community Presenter Game – which mimics the challenges and delights of presenting professional performing arts in a way everyone can have a bit of fun with.

You can also check out advice from other regional WA community presenters, which we collected in a series of videos here.

How can Country Arts WA help me put on a show in my town?

Lotterywest Shows on the Go tours community voted shows through regional WA, while providing tech support, community workshops, and marketing for presenters. If you’re a presenter and interested in having Lotterywest Shows on the Go come to your town, get in touch!

Email presenting@countryartswa.asn.au or call Country Arts WA on 9200 6200 or 1800 811 883 (regional freecall).

I need to take photos for an acquittal or to document/promote an upcoming show – how do I get correct permissions to publish those photos?

For all photography related rights questions we recommend consulting Arts Law’s information sheet.

We recommend that whenever taking photos at a performance you put up signs at the venue to indicate to audience members that their photo may be taken. You can find an example sign (for demonstration purposes only) here.

I'm a performing artist or producer who would like to tour regional WA, can you offer me any help?

Country Arts WA meets with presenters interested in touring regional WA during our Blind Dates event, which was last held during Fringeworld 2019.

Please stay updated for the next Blind Dates by subscribing to our monthly eNews here.
